Thank you to Sophie for the sixteenth post in our Me and My Connecta series, where happy babywearers help us spread the Connecta love by telling us all about their experiences. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved!
Which Connecta(s) do you have?
I have the Happy Hooters Connecta.
Why did you choose a Connecta to carry your baby?
I went to The Baby and Toddler Show at Sandown Park Racecourse when my baby was only 13 days old! I wanted to get a baby carrier and wanted to wait till he was born so I could try them out.
There were many carriers at the show but they were all so complicated. I remember one in particular where the man demonstrating couldn’t even do it on his own! Just as I was leaving I came across the Connecta stand. They showed me on a doll how to put it on and then they showed me how to put it on myself with my baby. He had been grumpy all day and fell asleep within seconds of being in the Connecta!
I knew it was the one. Bought it there and then and loved it ever since. Little man is now 5 months and still falls asleep almost instantly.
What is your favourite thing about your Connecta?
I love how easy it is to use, how compact it is and how much Charlie loves it! Its so easy to throw on the bottom of the pram or roll up and put in his changing bag: out of the way but there when you need it.
When do you find your Connecta most useful?
On a day to day basis, I put the Connecta under the pram when I go out. When he gets a bit grumpy, chuck it on and he falls asleep. It’s super quick and helps to spread his weight.
The MOST useful time though would have to be when we went to Portugal. Charlie was four months old and it was his first flight (and my first with a child!) I was super nervous, all the stuff to carry and then the added worry of him being good!
The Connecta was so helpful on that holiday but even more helpful when queueing at customs at Gatwick. It took over an hour from plane to baggage reclaim to collect the buggy. He slept soundly against my chest, I had both hands free and didn’t have super achy arms from holding him for that long.
Share a photo of a favourite Connecta moment – tell us the story!
I don’t seem to take many pictures in my Connecta! But I have these two.
The picture above was taken at the airport coming home from Portugal. It was 6am and we had been up for 3 hours already! Super tired (hence the frown!) But Charlie didn’t care, he was fast asleep! Made my life much easier, I even managed a little hands free snooze on the plane!
The second was taken at home – Charlie was having a bad day. He was super grumpy and clingy. My kitchen looked like a bomb had exploded – cue the Connecta! Rocked him to sleep, got my kitchen clean AND got a good bit of exercise. What more could you want?!
Come back next Monday for the next instalment in our Me and My Connecta series when we will be hearing from Tanya! Email email@example.com if you would like to find out how you can join in.
