Continuing with our theme of winter wellness, we have a lovely post from Debi explaining how the winning combination of her fitness tracker and her Connecta is helping her to keep active with a third baby in tow.
So its January again – how many people have a resolution to get fit? Or were gifted a fitness tracker at Christmas?
My third daughter was born at the end of October and as much it would be nice to laze around in our pyjamas all day we still need to do the nursery run with my four year old five days a week. There is something about a brisk walk on a crisp morning, it really blows away the cobwebs and gets your blood pumping.
I never really thought much about the number of steps I took until I got my fitness tracker, but it has brought out my competitive streak! Every day I’m looking to increase my total steps and quite often end up pacing the living room or adding another walk to our day. It has great health benefits for me and my older daughter – did you know that regular walking has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, asthma, stroke and even some cancers? My youngest loves it too, often falling asleep in the Connecta before I have even had a chance to finish fitting it.
This is where my love for Connecta is at, being a busy mum with nursery runs, after school activities and general shopping visits etc, the Connecta allows me to do gentle exercise without having to commit to fitness classes or gym sessions and find babysitters and best of all it is completely free.
I have to say 11 weeks of daily babywearing I feel my posture has improved, my confidence has improved and my general fitness has increased – as well as my steps!
Do you find your Connecta helps you to get out and about in the winter months? We’d love to hear about your experiences in the comments.
And if your wintry adventures lead you to some special Connecta moments then we would love to hear about them for our new blog series! Find out more here.
