With Father’s Day coming up this Sunday, we wanted to take the opportunity this week to celebrate all of the wonderful babywearing dads out there, starting with another great post from Tom.
Carrying has been such a large part of my becoming a dad.
Our eldest needed to be held close, every minute of every day as a baby, so a carrier was essential – we couldn’t have survived without it. I love the closeness it has brought us, sharing experiences at the same level, chatting, holding hands and kissing the top of that little head of hers that was so unbelievably soft. All of these things have helped shape our relationship.
When our son was born in January of this year it just seemed so natural to carry him, eliminating the need for a pram or a pushchair we are free to roam alongside his sister running off in the opposite direction! Again we are sharing experiences but the most beautiful part of it is he is sharing them with his sister. Watching their relationship blossom is just amazing.
The Connecta has definitely enabled us to establish a shared parenting of our children – as equals – which I think has been so important for our family.
From a practical point of view I love how quick the Connecta is – 3 clicks and they’re in! I also have loved spreading the Connecta love – my sister has recently had a baby and we gifted them a Connecta – which they love too.
At a family BBQ over the weekend my brother-in-law and I rocked our Connectas whilst eating a large quantity of burgers. We reckon it should totally be a selling point – ‘The Connecta: giving you both hands to dig into a BBQ buffet!’
All hail babywearing (especially at BBQs!).
Thank you Tom for sharing your thoughts. Look out for more posts this week where we will be hearing from some other babywearing dads, and celebrating with a very special giveaway… Click below for more details!
