When I first discovered Connectas, it was how stylish they were that lured me in. Shallow I know: but having previously only been aware of very utilitarian semi-structured carriers, and having tired pretty quickly of khaki for every occasion, I was quickly hooked on the minimalist construction combined with the range of gorgeous fabrics to choose from. Lucky really that they’re so comfy too!
I have over the past two and a half years amassed quite a collection, but I do still find myself wondering sometimes what I would do if I could have only one. Which fabric would best meet the needs of our little family, day in day out? And I have to say the denim Connecta wins hands down.
It goes with pretty much everything, is tough enough for all manner of adventures, and yet still manages to look smart when you need it to. In fact it was on that basis that it was our carrier of choice for a campervanning tour of Devon and Cornwall last October. We had to pack light, so there was definitely no space for the full collection. And the denim did the trick for everything from cosy snuggles on the beach after an end-of-season sea swim to scooping up the over-excited toddler before he ran off a cliff at Tintagel.
It even saw us through my brother’s wedding, where I was a bridesmaid and Arthur a pageboy. Our outfits were not compromised when he succumbed to a much-needed afternoon nap, recharging his batteries for the rest of the day’s celebrations.
Alongside all of that versatility, the denim is also my husband’s Connecta of choice whenever he sneaks in some toddler cuddles. A part of me always feels like I’m missing out a little bit when it’s his turn to wear Arthur (especially now he spends most of his time running around), but it’s only fair to share the Connecta love – and they do look so cute together…
So there you have it. Despite my penchant for bright colours and gorgeous prints, if we could only have one Connecta to see us through all of our adventures it would have to be the denim.
Which one would you choose?
