Thank you to Jen for the fourteenth post in our Me and My Connecta series, where happy babywearers help us spread the Connecta love by telling us all about their experiences. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved!
Which Connecta(s) do you have?
We have two: a Woven Wings Droplets and and a Didymos Stars.
Why did you choose a Connecta to carry your baby?
I had never heard of baby wearing until my baby was born – she would not sleep anywhere but on me – and I thought I was the only one going through it! After a month of no sleep and out of desperation I turned to a stretchy sling that someone had gifted us (and which I had totally forgotten about).
I decided to invest in a high street carrier and searched some Facebook sites for advice. A lady suggested I look into more ergonomic carriers and to visit my local sling library.
Sling Library? What on earth is that?
I searched online and went to my local library, and was set on a Manduca but it was too padded for my preference. The consultant suggested a Connecta and it was love at first wear! I rented a girasol design but quickly found a design I truly loved – a yellow and blue droplet design. I later found out this was a collaboration with Woven Wings, of which I now wrap with, but hubby still uses his Connecta to this day.
What is your favourite thing about your Connecta?
I can’t pick one thing but here are my thoughts. Ease of use and the amazing designers you collaborate with – there is something for everyone. It’s also the best way hubby closely connects with our little one, having her fall asleep on him makes my heart melt albeit a little jealous of the snoozy-snuggles.
Our little one also LOVES being carried.
I just want to spread the love of baby wearing – particularly ergonomic ones and the importance of positioning. Connecta has been perfect for us and we couldn’t live without it! Hubby is looking forward to using our Didymos Stars standard Connecta for baby number two in September.
When do you find your Connecta most useful?
Climbing up and down cliffs like we did last week in Cornwall, but actually it’s perfect for every day life too: walking around shopping centres, supermarket sweeps, exploring woodlands (for those quick ups), calming our little one when she’s a little upset, and for daddy-and-daughter time when mummy is too pregnant.
Share a photo of a favourite Connecta moment – tell us the story!
These pics are from our recent babymoon to Cornwall, when we used it constantly.
Come back next Monday for the next instalment in our Me and My Connecta series when we will be hearing from Caz! Email email@example.com if you would like to find out how you can join in.
