Thank you to Leyla for the eighteenth post in our Me and My Connecta series, where happy babywearers help us spread the Connecta love by telling us all about their experiences. Please get in touch if you would like to get involved!
Which Connecta(s) do you have?
It is the utterly gorgeous Ellie Fiesta patterned Connecta Standard that we own and absolutely love. It literally comes everywhere with us! Compact and convenient as well as snazzy!
Why did you choose a Connecta to carry your baby?
Our little man was almost three months old when we decided to invest in our very own carrier for him. Up until that point we had hired from our local Sling Library who, it turns out, were HUGE Connecta fans too!
One Saturday we attended The Baby and Toddler Show in Manchester where Connecta’s lovely stall with friendly, helpful staff caught our eye. I loved the closeness that the Connecta provided, the wide range of patterns and how simple it was to use! To check its comfort, the lovely staff at Connecta even allowed me to try one out around the venue so I could make sure it was the right choice for us.
Needless to say it was. The hard part was choosing the pattern! We opted for Ellie Fiesta as it was bright, fun, unisex and mirrored the decor of his nursery!
What is your favourite thing about your Connecta?
As well as how stylish it is, we get compliments everywhere we go, I love just how easily it can be folded up and popped into the changing bag. The little hood is a lovely little feature too for cradling sleepy heads and sheltering little ones from our good old British weather! The strap that comes with it comes in handy for attaching toys and teethers too.
Its ability to be so easily adjusted means that both myself and my husband can share wearing him on long walks and the switch is quick, easy and comfortable.
When do you find your Connecta most useful?
We personally find it most useful when we know that the pram or buggy would prove problematic! On walks, crowded places or somewhere with access limitations such as stairs. When he was very little, and breast fed literally around the clock, I would pop him in it in the house; he could feed and I had the freedom to do whatever. Within reason. Usually grab a brew!
It comes everywhere with us though and more recently we have started Forest School. Noah is not yet quite walking so myself, and other baby-wearing-Mommas, carry our (not so) little bundles into the Forest with ease! My little chap taking in his surroundings from the comfort of our Connecta. This week we go on a cruise and our trusty Connecta will too be globe trotting!
Come back next Monday for the next instalment in our Me and My Connecta series when we will be hearing from Vikki! Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to find out how you can join in.
